Timothy ""Tim"" Farrar, 71, passed away October 18, 2021 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center surrounded by loved ones.
Born June 27, 1950 in Kalamazoo, MI, Tim was the son of the late Myron and Rosemary (Collins) Farrar. His brother, Dennis Farrar, also preceded him in death.
He is survived by his beloved children, Adam (Shauna) Farrar of Granger and Sarah (Thomas) Lovisa of Mishawaka; and his four granddaughters, whom he absolutely adored and were a tremendous source of pride and joy to him: Lily and Emma Farrar and Hannah and Gianna (""Gigi"") Lovisa; his long-time partner, Pam Cecchi of Granger; two siblings, Patricia (Clay) Courtney of Pittsboro, IN and Jim (Ada) Farrar of Modesto, CA; his special niece, Heather (Toby) Ryan of Granger and their children, Patrick and Rosemary; niece Molly Farrar; and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss his presence dearly.
Tim was an avid baseball fan and his love for the Chicago Cubs was undeniable. Tim coached Adam from tee ball, all the way up to high school. Tim loved watching Hannah, Gigi, and Emma playing softball at Harris Little League in Granger. He lived so close he would walk to the ballpark from his home and spend the entire day with the girls. Being at the park all day would allow him one of his all-time favorite foods, ballpark hotdogs.
Tim enjoyed taking long trips on his Harley Davidson trike and short in town trips on his Indian. He loved every aspect of those bikes, from finding them all over the country to purchase, to getting them back to Indiana to ride. Tim was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in South Bend, St. Edward's College in Austin, TX, and Indiana University South Bend. He spent most of his professional life in sales, most recently Jordan Toyota and Jordan Lexus from where he was semi-retired.
Other than his children and grandchildren, Tim's true passion was serving in Alcoholics Anonymous and the St. Joseph County DuComb Center prison ministry, where he helped countless inmates recognize their full potential and manage their addictions. Tim's ability to listen objectively and guide without judgment were rare gifts he brought to that ministry and will be greatly missed. On Oct.14th Tim celebrated 24 years of sobriety.
A visitation to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, October 26 from 5-7 p.m. at the McGann Hay, Granger Chapel, 13260 SR 23, enter off Cherry Rd.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Joseph County DuComb Center located in South Bend, or Alcoholics Anonymous.
