Timothy Michael Foley passed away on Monday, March 27, 2023 in his home in Ann Arbor, Michigan at the age of 73.
Tim was born on September 15, 1949 in Detroit, MI. He graduated from St. Rose High School in Detroit, MI; received an associate degree in criminal justice from St. Clair County Community College and graduated from the Police Academy from Wayne State University.
While his early career was in security, he spent over 30 years employed at the Ann Arbor News. Among his many talents, he was readily available to family and friends for home and car repairs.
As an avid historian, he enjoyed visiting key sites in Michigan with frequent appearances via membership to the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village as well as regular attendance to Thunder Over Michigan and the Yankee Air Museum.
He is survived by his wife, Anne Foley; children, Jenevra Foley, Devlin Foley, Melina Foley; grandson, Trevor Davis; and siblings, John Foley, Edward (Janie) Foley, Mary Foley (Danny Griggs), Martha Foley (Dan Fredendall), Matthew (Paula) Foley.
A visitation will be held Friday, March 31, 2023 from 4-7pm and Saturday, April 1, 2023 from 10-11am with the service beginning at 11am at Nie Family Funeral Home, 3767 W. Liberty Rd., Ann Arbor, MI 48103. Burial will take place at a later date at Mount Hope Cemetery in Port Huron, MI.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Society of Saint Vincent DePaul, Capuchin Missions, Detroit, MI, and the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Wounded Warrior Project online or by mail and phone to 600 River Avenue Suite 400, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15212, 412-417-0935. Anyone can assist but you may also ask for Nicole.
