Timothy Wayne Gray died unexpectedly at home on January 3, 2024. Tim was born on November 30, 1982 to Timothy and Karen Gray in Batesville, Indiana

Tim made a huge impact in the classroom as an elementary school teacher, and as a coach on the basketball court. There was no doubt his biggest impact was the one he made with his three daughters. Tim was an avid sports fan, a music enthusiast, and above all, a family man. He was known for his huge heart, loyalty, and faith. Tim lived for traditions and vacations, but most of all the daily life of The Gray Family! He had an amazing sense of style that included an expansive and impressive t-shirt and jersey collection. He never met a dance floor that he did not want to visit.

At East Central High School in St. Leon, Indiana, Tim loved showing his dedication to athletics by participating in football, baseball, basketball, wrestling, and track. At Franklin College, he played baseball. Tim hit a homerun when he found Kimberly. They bonded over their dedication to teaching, and started their careers in teaching. They have been pillars in Perry Township for over 15 years. His career began at Jeremiah Gray Elementary until moving to Mary Bryan Elementary.

Tim has coached many athletes over the years. He and his family are honored to call these players family. Tim displayed the highest level of respect and admiration for his athletics and instilled a lifetime’s worth of lessons for them on and off the court. He was a proud coach at Southport Middle School, Southport High School, and Roncalli. This man clearly felt like he looked good in red!

He is survived by his wife, Kimberly, his three daughters, Layla, Nora, and Ella, and his parents Timothy & Karen Gray. Tim will be remembered most for his love and dedication to his family. Tim’s devotion to his wife and children was unmatched. He took much pride in being a dad to three girls, and an exceptional husband. He learned quickly the importance of ice cream, chocolate, Target, and Starbucks. He was the perfect person to have on your side after a rough day, or in the face of a challenge. Kim feels like Tim made her feel like the following words were forever made true.

“Find someone who grows flowers in the darkest parts of you, take heed when things get hard, and don’t you ever turn around. You’ll find someone, someday, somewhere that grows you to the clouds.” - Sun To Me
