Timothy Haaf Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, LLP - West 38th St. on Jan. 31, 2026.
Timothy Michael Haaf, (Mike) age 71, of Erie, passed away peacefully in the loving arms of his wife on Wednesday, January 28. He was born in Erie on September 30, 1954, to the late Gordon and Rita (King) Haaf. A graduate of Fort Leboeuf High School, Class of 1972.

Tim lived a full and adventurous life. He married the love of his life, Jackie (Wisinski) Haaf, on June 27, 1992, and together they shared 33 years of love, laughter, and countless memories. Tim spent his career with Waste Management and retired after decades of loyalty and dedication. His work took him across the country, where he turned every new house into a home and built lasting, lifelong friendships along the way.

In his younger years, Tim's ambitious need for speed led him behind the wheel of a stock car at Eriez Speedway, Stateline Speedway, and Conneaut Speedway, where he raced for many years. As time went on, his love for fast cars and mechanical work only deepened, taking him and Jackie to many NASCAR races in their beloved "Rosie the Camper." You could often find Tim at a racetrack, on the golf course, or in his garage-where the door was always open to help friends and family with repairs.

Tim's favorite moments were spent outdoors or in his garage, working on projects, sharing stories, and enjoying time with family and close friends gathered around a fire.

In addition to his parents, Tim was preceded in death by his sister, Natalie A. (Haaf) Zimmerly, and his brother, Gordon "Dink" Haaf, Jr. We take comfort in knowing he was welcomed into Heaven with open arms by these loved ones and many others who had gone before him.

He will be missed dearly by his devoted wife of 33 years, Jackie Haaf; his siblings, Jeanette Van Buskirk, Cindi Haaf (Richard), Susan Bedow (Rich), and Jacob Haaf (Cindy); Sister in laws Nancy Kestle, Raeann Craft (Norman), Kathy Combs (Herb), Christine Tobin (Kevin) as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and beloved pets.

Tim will be remembered for his generosity, strong work ethic, mechanical skill, love of racing, and the warmth he showed to everyone who passed through his open garage door.

A memorial service will be held at Brugger Funeral Home, 1595 West 38th Street, Erie, PA 16508, on Tuesday, February 3, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a prayer service to follow. A Celebration of life will be held at a later date. To send condolences please visit www.bruggerfuneralhomes.com.

Jackie and family,
My sincere condolences on Tim´s passing. He was incredibly gifted as a communicator and valued as an employee, but, most importantly, he was a committed family man and friend. I have so many fond memories of him both professionally and personally. He will be missed. Jackie, you have one incredibly bright guardian angel watching over you.
You are loved.
