Timothy C. Hinshaw age 73, son of Earl S. and Ruth T. (nee Burger) Hinshaw, beloved husband of 48 years to Jan (nee Coleman); loving father of Becky Brown (Courtney), and Amy Poporad (George); proud Pop-Pop of Mackenzie Brown and Isabell Poporad; brother of Tom (Linda) and the late Ted (Bobbi); uncle, cousin, teacher, and friend of many.
Timothy C. Hinshaw, born March 17, 1951, was a life-long Lakewood resident and member of the Lakewood Baptist Church. He graduated from Lakewood High School in 1969 and Kent State University in 1973 as well as completing many graduate hours throughout his career.
Prior to his teaching career, Tim first discovered his love of teaching others while working as a lifeguard in his youth from 1966-1969. During his undergraduate years, he worked his way through college as a fireman on the Penn Central Railroad.
In 1973, Tim started teaching in Cleveland. His teaching career spanned over 47 years in schools in Cleveland, Lakewood, and Rocky River. He loved sharing his knowledge with others and never knew a stranger.
He believed that life's purpose is to serve others.
Tim passed away peacefully at home on July 2, 2024. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Friends received on September 13, 2024 at Lakewood Baptist Church, 14321 Detroit Ave., starting at 6:00 p.m. for visitation.
Memorial Service September 13, 2024 at 7:00 p.m., light refreshments to follow at Lakewood Baptist Church. Interment Private.
