Timothy Hoagland Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bradley Funeral Home - Marlton on Jul. 29, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Timothy M. Hoagland was suddenly taken from us on July 24, 2025, at just 55 years old. In one moment, we lost a light to all of us-a husband who loved with his whole heart, a father who was his children's hero, and a protector who gave everything to keep others safe.

Born on May 3, 1970, in Marlton, NJ, Timothy's life was a masterpiece of service and sacrifice. After graduating Cherokee High School in 1988, he chose a path that would define him: putting others before himself, always.

At 17 years old, Tim joined the US Army, and for seven years, he wore the uniform with pride. But Timothy's calling to serve ran deeper still. In 1996, he joined the Coast Guard, where for 21 years he stood watch, rising to Senior Chief Petty Officer.

Tim's passion for service extended to his career as a police officer in Wildwood, Magnolia, and finally with the Delaware River Port Authority, where he walked the thin blue line until his retirement as Sergeant in 2024. He gave 18 years of service to their HART Team (High Angle Rescue Team). Tim dedicated countless hours to honor fallen officers for over a decade through running the Law Enforcement Memorial Run (LEMR).

Despite the heroic service Tim gave his community since a young age, his greatest achievement was the love story he lived every single day. For 32 years, he has been married to his high school sweetheart, Renee M. Hoagland. Theirs was a love that started young and only grew stronger-the kind of love that makes you believe in forever. They built a family that was Timothy's greatest pride: Jamie Pinto and her husband Matthew, Hunter Hoagland, and Julia Hoagland. Every decision he made, every sacrifice he endured, was for them. He was their protector, their provider, and their north star.

He is survived by his father, Harry Hoagland, and was the cherished brother of Steven Hoagland (Doreen), Paulina Brewer (Jim), Staci Clements (Mickey), and Todd Gottlieb. His mother and stepfather, Monica and Milton Gottlieb, preceded him in death. Tim held a special place in the hearts of his in-laws, Jerry and Ellen Graham. Tim's family extended far beyond blood to include beloved cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends who became family through love and loyalty.

Timothy found joy with his dog, Sarge, and at the family farm in Pennsylvania. There, surrounded by the land he loved, he would hunt and create precious memories with family and friends.

Please join his family to celebrate his life on Sunday, August 3 from 5-7 PM and Monday, August 4 from 9-10:45 AM at the Bradley Funeral Home, 601 Route 73 South at Evesham Rd., Marlton, where a Memorial Service will be held at 10:45 AM Monday. Inurnment to follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, North Hanover Twp., NJ.

His memory will live on in every life he saved, every family he protected, every moment he chose service over self. Timothy M. Hoagland: beloved husband, devoted father, honored veteran, dedicated officer, and irreplaceable friend. Gone too soon, missed beyond measure, loved forever.
