Timothy J. Karp

Timothy J. Karp passed away January 18, 2024, at the age of 56 at the Hadlow Center for Caring, Jacksonville, FL. He died unexpectedly from cardiac arrest and was a Ponte Vedra resident. Tim was born March 5, 1967, in the Chicago Metropolitan area to parents, Robert T. Karp(late) and Theresa F. Karp. He graduated from Deerfield High School in 1985, where he played four years of varsity hockey. Tim earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing Management from Northern Arizona University in 1989. He was a Kappa Sigma Fraternity member and served as Vice President over the college chapter. Upon graduation, Tim moved to Maryland and began his career in the elevator industry with Elcon Enterprises, Inc. He graduated in 2001 from Johns Hopkins University, Carey Business School with an MBA in Marketing Management. Tim stayed in the elevator industry and specialized in government contracts, growing into a well-respected professional with over 35 years' experience. Tim was an active member of BOMA, (Building Owners and Managers Association) that served many local organizations like the Wounded Warriors and Feeding Northeast Florida. Other interests included hockey, golfing, motorcycling, hiking and outdoor adventures with family and friends. Tim was a proud Father and survived by his three children, Caroline T. Karp (25), Zachary T. Karp(22) and Samantha G. Karp (18), who are all Florida residents; brothers, Steve R. Karp of Deerfield, IL, Brian Karp of Fountain Hills, AZ; mother, Theresa F. Karp of Fountain Hills, AZ. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
