With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Timothy Michael McCartin, age 63, of Phoenix, Arizona. Tim left us unexpectedly on September 6, 2024, at home, two weeks before his 64th birthday, following a sudden heart attack. Born in Charlottesville, Virginia, on September 30, 1960, to the late Thomas John and Patricia Marie McCartin, Tim was also preceded in death by his beloved brother, Christopher McCartin.

Tim leaves behind his devoted wife of 36 years, Salli Ann McCartin, and his cherished son, Matthew Thomas McCartin. He is also survived by his brothers, Thomas McCartin and Brian McCartin; his sisters, Mary Barrera, Ann Bowers, and Nancy Reilly; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members, all of whom were touched by his unwavering kindness and compassion. Tim's life was a testament to the virtues of loyalty, love, and service, a reflection of his faith in God. He had a unique ability to connect with everyone he met, and his absence leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Tim found great joy in sports, especially football and college basketball, where he faithfully supported his favorite teams, the Denver Broncos and Gonzaga Bulldogs. He was a proud alumnus of Gonzaga University, where he earned his bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 1983. After moving to Phoenix, Arizona, Tim spent 37 years working in the Aerospace division at Garret/Allied Signal/Honeywell, where his work ethic and leadership were respected by all.

In March of 1988, Tim married Salli, and their love story became the cornerstone of his life in Phoenix. Together, they welcomed their son, Matthew, in November of 1996, a moment that brought Tim immense pride. Tim’s family was his greatest joy, and he was a devoted husband and father, always placing his loved ones at the center of his life.

His care and generosity extended to everyone who knew him, whether he was helping with home projects, offering advice, or simply being present for those in need.

After his retirement in 2019, Tim continued to live a life of generosity and purpose, ever devoted to his family and friends. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, golfing, and fishing whenever the opportunity arose. His final days were spent, as always, in loving service to his wife, son, and especially his in-laws, a testament to the quiet strength, selflessness, and compassion that defined him.

The McCartin family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the community of Living Streams Church in Phoenix for their unwavering support and love during this time. Special thanks also to Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home for their compassion and assistance in honoring Tim’s life.
