Tim was a correctional officer for a numbers of years at Avery-Mitchell Correctional Institute. He loved to laugh and was a natural storyteller. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had an extraordinary natural talent for bringing anything to life that he touched. If he picked up a guitar, he could play it; pick out a song, he could sing it. He could pick up a piece of wood and turn it into something beautiful. If a vehicle was having problems, he could fix it. He was a member of Pineola Missionary Baptist Church. He was tough taking on life's obstacles, and made everyone feel safe. Tim's God-given personality made everyone around him love him.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his two sons: Coty Pate of Crossnore and Elijah Adam Pate (Elle Ascaino) of Mooresville; daughter, Sumer Pate of Crossnore; sister, Stephanie Greer (Allan) of Montezuma; nephew, Zack Greer; niece, "Bob" Regan Greer; best friend and brother, Mike Smith of Pineola; and the mother to his sons, Rachel Inman (Sam) of Morganton. He is survived as well by several cousins, uncles, aunts and friends.
A graveside inurnment will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 9th at Crossnore Baptist Church Cemetery.
