Timothy Darrell Phillips, 71, of Anderson, Indiana, quietly slipped into eternal rest on September 28, 2025. Born in Liberty, Kentucky, to Edward and Juanita Phillips, Tim made his way to Anderson as a boy, attending Meadowbrook Elementary, Southside Middle, and graduating from Madison Heights High School with the class of 1972.
Not long after, he volunteered to serve his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War—a choice that spoke volumes about his courage and character.
Tim spent much of his working life as a commercial painter. Away from work, he found pride in his accomplishments as a Freemason, and discipline through martial arts where he achieved a black belt.
Tim’s greatest pride was his son, Daylon. Tim was blessed with a great friend, Steven Carl Baker Dammit, who was more like a brother. The family would especially like to thank Baker for always being in Tim’s corner.
Tim is survived by his son, Daylon Phillips; and brother, Donnie Phillips. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Juanita Phillips, and brother, Tony Phillips.
Tim may not have been one to open up easily, but he left behind a legacy of strength.
