Timothy "Timmy" Joseph Slattery of Tewksbury formerly of Natick, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at his sister's home where he lived, surrounded by his loved ones.
Timmy was born into this world as a 5 lb. firecracker to parents, Richard P Slattery and Dolores Ann Slattery of Natick who predeceased him. He arrived along with the rest of the fireworks on the 4th of July 1966, and just like a firework he always exuded joy and shared it with everyone.
Timmy adored everything Star Wars. He loved swimming, bowling, and horses. He liked to watch the Patriots football games with family and friends, but he especially loved to shout "Go Army!" when watching the annual Army-Navy football game. In his younger years, Timmy worked several jobs that he loved and took pride in. He cleaned churches in Virginia and worked at McDonald's in Natick. Timmy loved his work, and when he packed his own lunch, he would devilishly try to sneak brownies or cookies to share with his bus drivers. He enjoyed the holidays, including dressing up as Darth Vader for Halloween and trick-or-treating with his great-nieces and great nephews. He loved the magic of Christmas, which gave such delight to those around him, and on Christmas morning he was excited to see what gifts Santa Claus left under the tree for him. Timmy loved being at his family's summer cottage in Dennisport on Cape Cod, including celebrating his birthday at the Sand Dollar Restaurant serving drinks with his bartender friends.
Timmy loved going for his breakfast with Aunt Joanne and Uncle Bruno. He was known for remembering everyone's birthday and he would write it in all the hundreds of calendars and notebooks he had. He was famous for his singing of the Happy Birthday song. Timmy loved parties, singing and dancing all night long. The most recent family trips, Disney World in 2022, Timmy went to "Star Wars" Galaxies Edge at Hollywood Studios riding the Millennium Falcon spaceship and making his lightsaber (May the Force be with You). In 2024 he went to Sea World, spending hours at the Orca tank calling Willy. Timmy loved movies and shows, his classic's were Free Willy, Power Rangers, Jaws, Star Wars, Bonic Women, Wheel of Fortune and old military and cowboy movies. Timmy would pretend he was a cowboy or a soldier, singing and playing with his guitar.
In the last few years Timmy took up horseback riding at Strongwater Farms with his Horse "Luka" which he thoroughly enjoyed. Timmy was the life of a party with a sweet soul of gold that made an impact on many people's lives and he will be missed every day by all who knew him. Our love for him is Everlasting. He is survived by his four siblings, Kathleen (Kathy) Surran and her husband William (Bill), whom he lived with in Tewksbury; Debra (Debi) Dawson of St. Cloud, Florida; Richard (Ricky) Slattery of Natick; Patricia (Patti) Pellegrini and her fiancé James (Jimmy) McDonnell of Falmouth; his many aunts and uncles Joanne and Bruno Resteghini, Joseph Orareo, all of Marlboro; Jeanette Slattery of Natick and Marie Slattery of California. Timmy had many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Denise Bergeson her husband Jeremy, and their children Logan, Lucy, Lily and Lana all of Tewksbury; William (Billy) Surran and his wife Brooke of Hampden, ME, and their children Aiden and Natalie; Kyle Dawson of Virginia and Calvin (CJ) Dawson of St. Cloud Florida. He leaves many other family and special friends.
