Tim lived on the Thompson Ranch his entire life, located east of Big Timber where the Boulder River flows into the Yellowstone River. He graduated from Sweet Grass County High School in 1972.
He worked with his parents raising sheep and was part of Thompson Outfitters operating in the Absaroka-Beartooth mountains in southern Sweet Grass and Park Counties. He never missed a summer in 44 years. Tim also owned a fencing business for many years. He worked in Iraq in the early 2000's as a contractor. He was married to Laura Bassil, who lives in Metairie, Louisiana.
Tim is described as a loyal and generous friend. He will be missed by many.
There will be a Celebration of Life at the American Legion in Big Timber starting at 1pm on December 7. Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made to a veterans' organization of your choosing.
