Timothy “Tim” Ray Carter, age 63 of Randleman went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 2, 2023 at his home.
Timothy was born on November 29, 1959, to Wilmer and Naomi Odom Carter in Guilford County, NC.
Tim attended The Mission Church (formerly named Redeeming Love Worship Center) in High Point and was employed with Bossong Hosiery in Asheboro. He was a veteran of the US Army where he received the long range marksmanship award. Tim was an avid Tar Heel and Dallas Cowboys Fan. He was a well-known and beloved coach for many sports winning several championships and state titles. He was always very competitive, whether he was playing golf, chess or horseshoes. Furthermore, he was uniquely talented in playing “the spoons”. Tim loved to laugh and joke and play games with his kids. Mostly, Tim’s desire was to instill in his family to love each other and remember the many things he bestowed upon them. He deeply loved his whole family.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Wilmer and Naomi Carter, his wife’s parents: George and Mary Lamb and brother-in-law: Lonnie Furr.
Tim is survived by his wife of 42 years, Robin Lamb Carter; children: Brandon M. Carter (Coutney L. Carter) of Asheboro, Alaina Carter (Sam Labied) of North Lauderdale, Florida, John “Tyler” Ray Carter (Andrea Purvis) of Randleman; siblings: Mark Carter (Mary Jane Carter) of Trinity, Steven Carter of Ramseur, Phillip Carter (Tina Carter) of Denton and Aaron Carter of Randleman.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 8, 2023 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC 27317.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, February 9, 2023 at 11:00 am at The Mission Church, (formerly named Redeeming Love Worship Center), 100 Kenliworth Drive, High Point, NC 27262 with Pastor John Langdon.
Burial will be Monday February 13, 2023 at Salisbury National Cemetery 501 Statesville Blvd. Salisbury, N.C. 28144 with military honor provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
Memorial may be made to: Randolph County Honor Guard, P.O. Box 1672, Asheboro, NC 27204-1672.
Pugh Funeral Home of Randleman has the honor of assisting the Carter Family.

Robin and family I don't know what to say except I am very sorry for your loss I'm glad I got to spend time with him at Christmas . We really had a good conversation .We love you guys prayers sent to you see you on the spring . Love terren and Randy
