Timothy “Timmy” Wayne Vaughn, age 66, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Moses Cone Hospital.
A memorial service will be held at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at 3:30PM and other times, friends and family are gathering at Walkers Full Circle Farm Shop on Strider Mt. Drive.
He retired from American Tobacco after many years of dedicated service. A hardworking man through and through, Timmy wore many hats throughout his life. He proudly ran the Sandy Cross General Store, fondly known as the Log Cabin Store, for many years, owned and operated a grading business, worked as a small engine repairman, and was a valuable asset to Walker’s Full Circle Farm. No matter the job, Timmy was known for his strong work ethic and willingness to help anyone in need.
He attended Elon University and carried a lifelong love for learning and hands-on problem solving. In his free time, Timmy enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, and playing Rook, often sharing laughs and stories along the way. He was known for his big heart, even bigger sense of humor, and his unmatched love for animals.
Those left to cherish his memory are his close friends who became his family; his beloved dogs, Tuka and Daphanie; his cats Kipper and DC; and his pet turkey, Turk Turk.
Timmy was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvia and George Vaughn, Jr.
Waiting to welcome him home are his angel K-9s, Samantha, CJ, and Jessica, surely by his side once again.
In lieu of flowers, friends and loved ones are asked to make a donation to a local animal shelter of your choice in honor of Timmy’s lifelong compassion and love for all creatures.
