Timothy D. Whitis, Sr., 69, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2025, at home surrounded by his loved ones. Timothy was born May 17, 1955, in Roanoke, Virigina, to Perry D. Whitis and Janie Nadine Dillon Fuller.
Tim was a beloved son, husband, father, grandpa, and great-grandpa and had the entrepreneurial spirit with a hard work ethic. He lived life to the fullest, always doing his #1 rule: Have fun. He enjoyed sitting outside with his furry companions, Lilly, Maggie, and Mia. He especially enjoyed history, music, traveling, and classic movies. But above all, his love for his family will be the legacy that he leaves forever in the hearts of those who were privileged to know him.
Tim is survived by his wife of 41 years, Debbie, and his two children, Ashley Pope (Tony) of Lexington, North Carolina, Phillip Whitis (MacKenzie) of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, as well as one granddaughter, Carly (Will) and one great-granddaughter, Oaklynn Mae, of Lexington, North Carolina. Tim is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Wayne and Johnny Wright.
The family would like to thank the amazing and compassionate staff of Lower, Cape Fear LifeCare for being so kind and caring during this difficult time. A celebration of life will be held on March 1, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Myrtle Beach Funeral Home, 4505 Hwy 17 Bypass South, Myrtle Beach, SC. 29577.
