Todd Phillip Crabtree, age 64, of Peshtigo, WI passed away on April 24, 2023 at his home surrounded by family. Born September 7, 1958 in Fond Du Lac, WI to the late Warren & Annette Crabtree. Todd graduated from Fond Du Lac High School and attended Moraine Tech.
Todd married Kathy (LaDuron) Kontny on August 4, 2001 at their home in Peshtigo. He worked as a welder at Brenner Tank in Fond Du Lac until moving to Peshtigo, where he then worked at Fincanterri Marinette Marine for 24.5 years, he retired from MMC in 2021 as a leadman. Todd enjoyed fishing, kayaking, hunting, gardening, walking in the Peshtigo Recreation Area, that he and Kathy named, with his best friend Maggie. He was a lover of all animals, he spent time feeding the birds and squirrels, he would rather pet and feed the deer than hurt one while hunting. Todd is a lifelong Packer, Brewers and Badgers fan. He is the originator of the American Flag placement done on 4th of July in the city of Peshtigo. He, his family, and friends would go out and place American Flags in the front yard of every home in Peshtigo. Todd and Kathy hosted a free haunted house at their home for 14 years, with many kids and adults alike coming from neighboring cities to enjoy the scares and many treats they had to offer. He helped decorate the campground for Christmas and the Fall Fest, donating his time and money to provide cotton candy and popcorn for all who came.
Survivors include, his wife, Kathy; his daughter, Angi Basak-Laack; his son, Wyatt Kontny (Morgan); 9 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandson; a sister, Amy (Kevin) Mcguire; a brother, Brett (Judy) Crabtree; nieces and nephews; along with many friends and his beloved dog, Maggie.
He will be greatly missed by his good friends Jackassica and Ken-do.
Todd was preceded in death by his mother and father; his brother, Jeff Crabtree, and his beloved dog, Molly.
There will be a celebration of life on May 6, 2023 at Drees Community Center in Peshtigo from 12:00 to 4:00.
We would like to thank the nurses, Drs. and Eagle III, who cared for him while in the hospital, as well as Unity Hospice who helped in home. Berth & Rosenthal Funeral Home is assisting the family.
