Todd G. Hibst, 65, of Elgin, IL, passed away on December 20, 2024 at home. He was born on October 8, 1959 in Freeport to parents Clarence F. Hibst, Jr. and Mary L. Hibst (Brewer).
In 1977, he graduated from Aquin Central Catholic High School, Freeport, IL. In 1982, He graduated from the University of Illinois, Champaign with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. In 2014, he retired from Exelon Bryon Generating Station, where he worked as a senior procurement engineer/procurement specialist for 32 years.
Todd was an avid fan of his Fighting Illini and Notre Dame, as well as the Chicago Cubs, Bears, Bulls and Blackhawks. He enjoyed playing golf, bowling, hunting and fishing for many years.
Survivors include Ellen Fiech (his significant other and love of his life), sister Beth (Brian) Altensey; two cherished nieces and one great niece: Kaitlan (Ryan & Rilynn) Gaworski and Madeleine (Brandon) Fowler; aunt, Marilyn Shepard of Harvard; many extended Hibst, Fiech, and Altensey family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and aunts.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
