A warrior until the end, Todd Gerard Louviere, left this world surrounded by people he loved, fighting with the same strength and determination that defined his life.
Before beginning his career in law enforcement, he worked offshore, a job that demanded grit, discipline, and endurance. He carried those qualities with him throughout his life. On his weeks off, he often crawfished, embracing the hard work and simple joys of the outdoors long before he ever wore a badge.
He dedicated over 10 years to the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Department, proudly serving as Warden for eight of those years. His commitment, leadership, and strong work ethic earned him the respect of his colleagues and his community.
A true outdoorsman, Todd was a passionate hunting and fishing enthusiast and an avid tracker of the weather and river reports. Beneath his rough exterior was a heart of gold, a hardworking family man who loved deeply and lived fully.
Even through illness, he never stopped being a devoted husband and father. He was protective, encouraging, and our biggest fan. He always put his family first and reminded us to stay strong, laugh often, and to always help others.
His favorite thing was to laugh even through life's hardest times. He will be remembered for his exceptional strength, his humor, his hope, his unwavering faith, and the love he gave to those fortunate enough to know him.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Leah R. Louviere; Denielle Louviere Broussard and Shelbie Louviere Arana and husband, Andres; grandchildren, Sawyer Broussard, Ava Broussard, Leo Arana and Ivy Arana; parents, Gary Louviere and Georgette Bernis Louviere; brothers, Troy Louviere and wife, Karen, Gregg Louviere and wife, Lori, Hoyt Louviere and wife, Carrie and Russ Louviere and wife, Crystal; and sister, Rae Hebert and husband, Paul.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, George and Mamie Louviere; maternal grandparents, Willie and Olive Bernis; infant brother, Craig Louviere; father-in-law, Leffrey Renard, Sr.; and sister-in-law, Tracie Barras Renard.
Pallbearer will be Andres Arana.
The family wishes to give a special thanks to Hospice of Acadiana, especially nurses: Treashur Naquin, Emily Oliver and Melissa Vital, as well as his caregivers, Claudette Jacob and Jamie Breaux.
