Tom Blomberg Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Washburn-McReavy Funeral Chapels - Edina on Jan. 9, 2026.
Thomas Lynn "Tom" Blomberg, age 62, of Pine City, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026, at 7:56 PM, with his sons Tommy and Nicholas by his side.

Tom was born on September 20, 1963, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was a Class A truck driver, known to many on the road by the call sign "Midnight" and truck #187, and he found freedom and comfort on the open road. At one point in his life, Tom combined his love of driving with his passion for classic cars, buying and selling classic vehicles, and hauling them across the country-something he truly enjoyed.

At home, Tom found his greatest peace living on his farm, where he took pride in caring for the land. He had a deep appreciation for old movies, a fascination with Bigfoot, and a lifelong love of good old music. One of Tom's greatest joys was cooking-he loved preparing meals and feeding his friends and family, believing that good food was one of life's simplest and best pleasures.

Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Sophia; his daughter, Ashley; his father, Byron Thomas Blomberg; and his brother, Troy Blomberg.

He is survived by his mother, Diane Blomberg; his sons, Tommy Blomberg (Caitlin), Nicholas Blomberg (Libby), and Charlie Hayes (Cassie); his brothers, Tim Blomberg and Chad Blomberg; and his cherished grandchildren, Scarlette, Lilly, Jack, Odette, Arianah, Tycen, and Serenity. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held on January 15, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Washburn McReavy Edina Chapel, 5000 West 50th Street & Highway 100, Edina, MN 55436.

A Funeral Service will follow from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.

A Graveside Service will take place on January 15, 2026, from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Lakewood Cemetery, 3600 Hennepin Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55408. Attendance at the graveside service is optional, and everyone is welcome.

"He lived with strength and conviction, on his own terms, and his legacy lives on in the land he loved and the family he fed."
