Tom Pappert

Tom Pappert died August 28, 2022. Tom, 82 years old, was born October 17, 1939 in Pittsburgh, PA to Cornelius and Mary Pappert. He was a resident of Bonita Springs, FL and Bloomfield Hills, MI, and formerly resided in many locations throughout the country as part of his career.
Tom earned bachelor's and master's degrees from Duquesne University, and spent his entire professional career with Chrysler. He joined Chrysler as a trainee in 1962 working in a regional sales office and retired in 1998 as the corporation's Vice President of Sales, a position he held for nearly 18 years. During Tom's long tenure as a sales executive, Tom was known for working tirelessly to improve the customer experience. He pioneered offering dealers incentives to improve customer satisfaction scores and sought to change the company's culture based on a bottom-up philosophy. He was also a strong advocate for dealers, investing countless time and energy to foster a team approach between the Chrysler factory and dealer network.
Tom enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and sport shooting, as well as spending time on his boat in Florida. But the greatest love of his life was his family. He will always be remembered as a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Tom was the beloved husband of Joyce for 62 years; loving father of the late Dr. Thomas Pappert; father-in-law of Shelly Pappert Cooney (Michael); grandfather of Michael (Molly), Tommy, and Fritz; and great-grandfather of Isabelle Joyce. He is also survived by his brother, P. David Pappert.
The Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, September 10, 10am at St. Hugo of the Hills Catholic Church, 2215 Opdyke Rd., Bloomfield Hills. Visitation at church begins 9am. A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home, 248-362-2500.
