Tom “Tommy” Frank Tuminello passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025 in New Orleans, LA at the age of 98. He was born on March 1, 1927 in Brookhaven, MS to the late Frank Tuminello and Mary Damico Tuminello. He was a long time resident of Gretna, LA. He was preceded in death by “the only woman for him”, his wife of 56 years, Lucille Cashio Tuminello. He is survived by his children, Thomas P. Tuminello and Mary “Suzy” Susette Oubre, daughter-in-law, Jane E. Tuminello and son-in-law, E.J. Oubre, Jr, his grandsons, Todd Patrick and Michael Tuminello; great grandson Dominick Tuminello, granddaughter, Kim O. Cheramie, grandson-in-law, Brett Cheramie, great granddaughters, Lauren Ann and Ashley Ann Cheramie. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Amile, Charles, Frank and Joe Tuminello; his sisters, Rosemary Goens and Santa Rando. He enjoyed a long career in the oilfield, his last position was as Regional Sales Manager for Hughes Tool Company and Varco Supply. He was a passionate LSU football, LSU baseball and Saints fan. He was his happiest watching LSU play baseball and football. He was an avid vegetable gardener and grew the best tasting tomatoes until he was 96 years of age. He was a member of the Archbishop Blenk Knights of Columbus Council #1905. It was his request for no flowers and instead humbly asks for donations to be made in his memory to The Sacred Heart Southern Missions, 6050 Highway 161, Walls, Mississippi 38686, www.shsm.org. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 610 Sixth Street, Gretna, LA 70053 on Friday, April 11, 2025 at 10am. Visitation will be held at the church from 9am until 10am. Interment, Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, La. Family and friends can view and sign the online guest book at www.mothefunerals.com.
