Tommie R. Watkins McConnell was born on July 21, 1949 to the union of Lela Washington Watkins and Tom Watkins in San Augustine, TX.
Tommie attended Lincoln High School in San Augustine where she excelled in dance and music as a majorette in the High School Band. She went on to begin a career in nursing which she worked for 40 years, as anyone who knew her, knew she had a loving and nurturing spirit. For 25 years Tommie followed the lord’s call to Ministry and in that time, she touched many lives.
Tommie departed this life on Friday May 16th, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents Lela Watkins, Tom Watkins, 5 sisters, and 4 brothers.
Tommie was a kind soul who never met a stranger. She was outgoing, loved life, loved her family, and children/grandchildren. She loved and always testified about the power of Yahshua and how God and Ministry changed her life. She leaves to cherish her memory; her 3 sons Danny Jones, Keith Jones, Willie Jones, her sister and brother Bobbie A. Watkins, Lewis H. Watkins, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Tommie will be truly missed by family and friends but she will live on forever in our hearts and memories.
