Thomas "Tommy" R. Austin age 76, of Hopkinsville passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes. The family has chosen cremation with a Private Family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
Mr. Austin was born in Hopkinsville, KY on February 20, 1949, the son of the late Ralph Austin and Mary Dickinson Rose. He retired as the Assistant Superintendent of the Street Department for the City of Hopkinsville. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Marshall Austin and his sister, Bertha Blackburn.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Tricia Newton Austin of Hopkinsville; his sons, Dylan (Katilyn) Austin of Hopkinsville, Chad (Kelly) Austin of Hopkinsville, Dustin (Rheagan) Love of Gracey, Devin (William) Love of Hopkinsville; his daughter, Kelly Austin of Hopkinsville; his brothers, Terry (Candy) Austin of Hopkinsville, Jerry Austin of Hopkinsville, Charles (Sarah) Austin of Pembroke; his sister, Brenda (Roy) Huddleston of Hopkinsville; his grandchildren, Char Young, Sydney Austin, Addy Jo Austin, Beckett Love, Bennett Love, and one more granddaughter on the way; and his three great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his memory to Max's Hope Pet Resue or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
