Tommy Harold Dubberly, 59, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at Optim Medical Center in Reidsville, Georgia. He was born on July 17, 1963, in Claxton, Georgia to Bobby and Sandra Burkhalter Dubberly. Tommy lived his entire life in Glennville, Georgia where he built a legacy of service to his community.
Tommy graduated from Glennville High School in 1981 and soon after began his lifelong dedication as a volunteer firefighter with the Glennville Fire Department. He served the Department of Corrections for 20 years and retired as Sergeant. Tommy was Deputy Director of Tattnall County Emergency Management Services where he served diligently. He also held the position of Assistant Chief of the Tattnall County Fire Department and was a gas truck driver for Claxton Oil Company. All who knew him respected his dedication to public service.
Tommy was Past Master of Philadelphia Lodge #73. Additionally, he was Vice President of Tattnall County Shrine Club. When not serving others selflessly through emergency management services or masonic fraternity events or volunteering his time Tommy enjoyed spending time at the coast, traveling and with his grandchildren. Tommy was a member of First United Pentecostal Church of Glennville.
He will always be remembered for his unwavering devotion to serving those of his community
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents. His memory lives on through his wife, Darlene Dubberly, son, Jason Dubberly (Danielle), brothers, Timmy Dubberly (Brenda), Tony Dubberly (Marie), granddaughters, Jasey and Cheyenne Dubberly, nieces, Amber Dubberly, Tina Dubberly, nephews, Austin Fincher, Tanner Fincher (Sarah), Dixon Burkhalter, several other relatives and friends also survive. Tommy’s warmth and dedication will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm, Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at First United Pentecostal Church of Glennville. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at First United Pentecostal Church of Glennville with Bishop James Holland and Rev. Brad Pickren officiating. Burial will follow in Pigott Branch Church Cemetery with Masonic Rites and Firefighter Honors.
Pallbearers: Scott Terrell, Matt Jasinski, Dixon Burkhalter, Tanner Fincher, Austin Fincher, Ronnie Shoemaker, John Shoemaker, Tyler Walker
Honorary Pallbearers will be all Tattnall County Emergency Services and Glennville Fire Department.
In lieu of flowers remembrance may be made to: First United Pentecostal Church of Glennville, 750 W Barnard St, Glennville, Georgia 30427 or Masonic Home of Georgia, P.O. 4183, Macon, Georgia 31210 with all donations labeled as Camp-Tommy Dubberly.
