Tommy Gaugh Obituary
Thomas Lynn Gaugh, affectionately known as Tom or Tommy, of Pinson TN passed away on April 7, 2025, at the age of 68. Born in Jackson, TN, Tom was known for his kindness, generosity, and sense of humor. He attended Southside High School in Jackson TN and graduated from Beech Bluff High School in 1974. After high school he initially built houses with his dad. Tom then worked for Jackson Edwards Bag Company for about ten years before retiring in January 2023 from Pinnacle Foods (Quaker Oats) after 35 years as a maintenance mechanic.
Tom is survived by his wife of six years, Teresa Vandiver Gaugh, his mother Doris Bain McKinney, his children Thomas Jr. (Jennifer) Gaugh and Mary Ann (Aaron) Lanham, and his siblings Garey (Debbie) Gaugh, Lee (Diane) Gaugh, Neil (Lori) Gaugh, and Curt (Paula) McKinney. He also leaves behind thirteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
Additionally, Tom is survived by his late wife Peggy Gaugh's family, including siblings Linda Pruitt, Brenda Dinwiddie, Jeanna (Darren) Volner, and parents-in-law Mary and Billy Ray.
His mother-in-law Bea Vandiver, sons Ben (Rita) Osborne and Christopher (Susan) Osborne, brothers-in-law Roger (Regina) Vandiver and Wade Vandiver and Rhonda, sister-in-law Sherry Lonon, three grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive him.
Tom was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Peggy Gaugh, his father James Gaugh, his dad Owen McKinney, and his sister Darla Gaugh.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 12, at 11 AM at Shackleford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel, with burial to follow at New Friendship Cemetery in Beech Bluff, TN. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, April 11, 2025, from 5-8 PM at Shackleford.
Pallbearers will include Glenn Gaugh, Robert Gaugh, Parker Gaugh, Kelton Gaugh, Brent Pearce, and Taylor Lavenue, with honorary pallbearers Charles Threadgill, Kenneth Simpson, and Tyler Cooper.
Flowers will be accepted, or donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
