Tommy L. Hawthorne, Jr., 50, of Canton, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on November 18, 2022. He was born on June 14th 1972 in Canton to the late Tommy L. Hawthorne, Sr.,and Arlene (UpDike) Diehl. He was an avid sports fan and loved his Cowboys. He loved mentoring kids as well as coaching them. Tommy was a 1990 graduate of GlenOak High School. He loved and served his country as a United States Marine from 1991 to 1994.
Tommy leaves his sons, Zachary, Drache, Tommy Hawthorne and stepson Alex Meredith; grandson, Hunter; his best friend and sister Jennifer (Gregory) Fribley, Madison, and Allison Diehl; brothers James, Robert, and Mitchell Diehl; nieces, Britani (Jordan) Carter, Brooke and Laney Fribley; nephews, Brandon (Mikayla) and Brayden Fribley; great nieces, Brylee, Brantlee, and Aurora; great-nephew, Braylon, that he enjoyed very much.
Tommy also had an extended family at Hog Heaven and Kraus Pizza that he loved dearly. He will be missed by many, loved by most, and never forgotten by all.
A Celebration of Tommy's life will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at 11 am, at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Burial will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 5-8 pm and on Tuesday from 10-11 am prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to his favorite charity: www.neverwalkalonefoundation.com. Messages of comfort and support may be sent to the family at www.paquelet.com.
