Tommy Hayes

Tommy Hayes age 73, of Chatsworth, GA, passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. Tommy Hayes, born on October 22, 1951, in Dalton, Georgia, was the beloved son of the late Gordon Lee Hayes and Hazel Marie Brackett Hayes. A true outdoorsman at heart, Tommy was a master deer hunter who found joy in fishing, gardening, and spending time on his tractor. His generous spirit and unwavering willingness to help others left a lasting impact on all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for the kindness he showed, the passions he pursued, and the love he gave. Tommy was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Bertie Hayes; his cherished grandson, Tommy "Bubba" Campbell; his sisters, Louise Ball and Ollie Weaver; and his brothers, Roy and Johnny Hayes. Survivors include his two loving daughters, Marie Gallman (Tom) and Tonya Hayes (Doyle Lynn); grandchildren, Stephen Williams (Cassie), Mason Williams (Brittney), Russell Gallman, and Walker Gallman; great-grandchildren, Stephen Williams III, Riley Williams, Mason Williams Jr., Kynleigh Williams, Ellie Mae Williams, Destiney Kennemore, Aubrey Gallman, and Allie Gallman; brother, Charlie Bailey; and three sisters, Jewell McBrayer, Shirley "Cookie" Skidmore (Charlie) and Jane Land (James). Several cherished nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 2:00 P.M., Chapel of the Dalton Funeral Home with Pastor James Watts officiating. Interment will follow at Sardis Cemetery in Chatsworth, GA. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Dalton Funeral Home.
