Tommy Maestas, age 69, of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on Friday morning, December
22nd , 2023 of natural causes.
He was born June 14th, 1954 in Roswell, New Mexico, to the late Dave and Nora Maestas. He was
a star basketball player at Albuquerque High School and was well-known as the “Bulldogs
Quarterback” for his time as point-guard. He helped lead the team to two state championships
his junior and senior year of 1972 and 1973. During that time he was also a youth counselor
with “Fraternal Order of Police” summer camp, that provided sports opportunities for low-

Torres Maestas. He had a long career with the COA Water Authority, where he then retired and
spent most of his time with his family, making sure to show up to every game, performance and
activity for each of his grandkids. He also made time to always be part of his much-loved car
club; The Drifters. He cherished his 1941 Chevy Bomba and would love to be at car shows,
