Tommy Kent McCormick, born on October 12, 1952, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, passed away on March 29, 2025, in Lubbock, Texas. A devoted father and grandfather, Tommy is survived by his sons, Erick, Derrick, and Barry McCormick, daughter-in-law Lynn McCormick, and his brother Eldon McCormick. He cherished every moment spent with his twelve grandchildren, instilling in them a sense of love and support throughout their lives.
An electrician by trade, Tommy retired from the Lubbock State School, where he made lasting friendships and memories. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as spending weekends fishing, enjoying the great outdoors, and cheering on his favorite sports teams, particularly basketball. One of his proudest moments was watching his son Barry excel in football and hearing that Derrick named his grandson after him-a testament to the strong family bonds he nurtured.
Above all, Tommy was a man of deep faith and devotion to the Lord. His love for life and family shone through in every interaction, as he dedicated himself not only to his children but also to his grandchildren. His enthusiasm for life, passion for the outdoors, and fondness for guns defined his spirit.
Visitation will take place at Sanders Funeral Home on April 10, 2025, at 7:00 PM, followed by a graveside service at Bovina Cemetery on April 11, 2025, at 2:00 PM. Tommy's memory will be celebrated by all who knew and loved him.
Tommy was preceded in death by: father; Arlon Everett McCormick, mother; Hattie McCormick, sister; Douise Ellison, sister; Wanda Williams, sister; Janice Davis, brother; Everett "Junior" McCormick, brother; Robert McCormick, brother; Billy Don McCormick.
