Tommy Smith

Thomas "Tommy" Walker Smith, age 82 of Bremen, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, June 15, 2024. He was born May 6, 1942 in Bremen, son of the late Tom Watson Smith, Jr. and Lou Nora Walker Smith. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Jane Smith; a brother, Eddie Smith; and son-in-law Eddie Nixon who passed within minutes of each other.
Tommy was "one-of-a-kind" person. It rarely took more than one meeting to understand that. He was skilled at many things but was known for making the best Bloody Mary's. He had a generous soul, welcoming kindness, and friendly attitude. He was loyal, hardworking and a role model for his family and many others in our community. He took in numerous people as family and never failed to show his love and concern for them. Tommy and his brother Eddie worked in the men's clothing business for many years, owning and operating T&E Clothes. Tommy was a "people person" who loved fellowshipping and loved dealing with the public. He was a member of the Bremen Liars Car Club, and enjoyed going to car shows and meeting new people. Tommy's presence and direction on this earth will be missed by many in our area.
Survivors include his children, Todd and Stacey Smith, Toni and Keith Lovvorn and Terri Nixon, all of Bremen; the mother of his children, Teresa Nixon Smith; grandchildren, Cameron and Lauren Medina, Hunter Nixon, Beau Nixon, Landon Smith, Clay and Faith Lovvorn, Cade Nixon, Jacob Smith and Sam Lovvorn; and great grandchildren, Millie Nixon, Miriam Medina and Lennon Lovvorn; sister, June Matthews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
Services will be Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at 6:00 pm in the Chapel of Hightower Funeral Home. His grandsons will serve as Pallbearers, Cameron Medina, Hunter Nixon, Beau Nixon, Landon Smith, Clay Lovvorn, Cade Nixon, Jacob Smith and Sam Lovvorn. Interment will follow immediately for family and close friends at Smith Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked you make a donation to the Strong House Foundation at 3371 Highway 27 Business, Buchanan, Georgia 30113.
