Tonja Dauson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Walnut Lawn Funeral Home - Springfield on Jan. 8, 2026.
Tonja Marie Dauson (née Barber), age 60, passed away on January 6, 2026, in Springfield, Missouri. Born on April 29, 1965, in the same city she called home throughout her life, Tonja's journey was deeply rooted in the heart of the Ozarks.
Tonja attended Central High School in Springfield and went on to further her education at Missouri State University. Her life was marked by a deep devotion to her family and a love for simple joys that brought her happiness and peace.
She was a loving mother to Michael Paul Barber and Jennifer Renee Granger, and grandmother to two grandchildren. Her role as a mother and grandmother was one she cherished dearly. Tonja was a cherished daughter to her mother, Roberta Sue Granger. She also shared a special bond with her siblings: Jerry Lee Barber, Jackie Paul Barber Jr. and his wife, Durenda, Jerilyn Granger Neal, and April Granger. She held close the memory of those who preceded her in passing-her father, Jackie Paul Barber; sister, Patricia Jolene Barber; and step-father, Larry Granger.
Tonja found joy in life's quiet pleasures. She loved visiting Cape Fair on Table Rock Lake, where the water and natural beauty brought her peace. Whether it was spending time with her family or doting on her beloved cats, Tonja embraced every moment with warmth and affection.
She will be laid to rest at a later date at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Springfield, Missouri.
May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
Care has been entrusted to Walnut Lawn Funeral Home, Ltd. – DeGraffenreid-Wood Crematory, Springfield, Missouri.
