Conway..... Tony Altman, age 67, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2024 following a brief illness.
Mr. Altman was born in Conway, a son of the late Warren K. and Lorraine Long Altman. He was a member of Union United Methodist Church and a longtime member of Darling Lake Hunting Club. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Santee Cooper for 32 years. Mr. Altman was an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer. He loved camping, spending time with his family, and his morning coffee time with friends at Fisherman's Headquarters.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Altman was predeceased by a brother, Mike Altman, a nephew, Wayne Altman, and his father-in-law, Wilbert Allen.
Surviving are his wife, Meg Altman of Conway; one son, Andy Altman (Terra) of Conway; two grandchildren, Grey Altman and Finnley Altman; two brothers, Kenny Altman (Rachel) of White Lake, NC and Eddie Altman (Linda) of Lexington, SC; mother in law, Margaret Ann Allen of Conway; brother in law and sister in law, Hal and Cindy Allen of Conway; nieces and nephews, Caroline Allen, Sara Gerald (Hunter), and Jody Altman (Bess) and great nieces, Sloan Gerald and Maggie Altman.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM Wednesday at Union United Methodist Church
with Rev. Scott Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 3:00 PM
until 4:00 PM prior to the service.
