William "Tony" Anthony Greene, age 65, of Coon Rapids, IA, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 10, 2025 at Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE, with his family by his side.
A private service will be held at a later date.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Coon Rapids and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com
Tony was born April 14, 1959 in Knoxville, TN, and was the son of Charles William and Melzetta (Parks) Greene. He grew up in Detroit, MI, and attended Charles F. Kettering High School graduating with the Class of 1979. He then attended Ellsworth Community College where he excelled in football before transferring to Ohio State University and he played football under coach Woody Hayes. He then transferred to Iowa State University in Ames where he continued to play football and was the running back. He moved to Iowa Falls, IA, where he was employed as a police officer for the Iowa Falls Police Department where he met his future wife of 40 years, Lori. The couple made their home in Coon Rapids where he worked construction for several years until he was forced to retire due to health reasons. Tony loved to grill, taking care of his cars, spending time with his friends and especially his family. He was the life of that party and loved having a great time. He always had the best smile and laugh.
Tony is survived by his wife Lori Greene of Coon Rapids, IA; his children: Paula Alvarado (Jonathan) of Perry, IA, Melissa Cretsinger (Stuart) of Coon Rapids, Kimberly Greene-Hofbauer (Mike) of Coon Rapids, and Joshua Greene of Fort Dodge, IA; grandchildren: Jasmyn, Desmond, Alexia, Cristhian, Kalysta, Aaliyah, and Alianna; sisters, Wanda Greene of Knoxville, TN, and Lisa Greene of Nashville, TN; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Tony is preceded in death by his parents; brother Gregory Greene, sister Kimberly Greene, and nephew Jerimar Munson.

As a child, he was very generous and kind. He will be missed by his family in Knoxville, Tennessee. God needed an Angel and he chose Tony!!!
