Tonya Diggs Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Miller and Miller Funeral Home - Hugo on Dec. 16, 2025.
Tonya Kay (Newton) Diggs, 64 was born on March 1, 1961, the daughter of Burl Dean Newton and Betty (Cody) Newton. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Tracy Newton.

Tonya attended grade school in Fort Towson and received her LPN degree from Vo-Tech in Hugo at the age of 22. She had a servant's heart and displayed her kindness and compassion through the many years she worked in various nursing homes in McCurtain and Choctaw County. Tonya retired at the age of 55 and enjoyed spending time fishing with her beloved husband, Jimmy. She also loved listening to music by Elvis and tending to her flower garden. Tonya especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Her passing has left a void in the lives of her family, and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Tonya is survived by her husband, Jimmy Diggs of the home; son, Eric Diggs of Antlers, OK; daughter, Monica Diggs of Hugo, OK; grandchildren, Jett McClain, Jax McClain, Taylor Diggs, Kaden Diggs and Erica Diggs; great grandchildren, Trevor, Wyatt and Koa; brother, David Jones and wife Crystal of Moore, OK along with a host of family, friends and loved ones.
