Tracy Jane Autry passed away on October 9, 2025, at the age of 59. Born on February 2, 1966,
Tracy's journey began as the cherished daughter of Peggy Thompson Miller and Anthony Fox, and later, her stepmother, Marcia Fox. Her vibrant spirit was a beacon of joy within her family, which grew to include her beloved husband of 40 years, Wendell "Bubba" Autry. Together, they nurtured a family of their own, celebrating the birth of their son Zachary Autry and his wife Abigail, and rejoicing in the lives of their grandchildren, Savannah, Piper, and Ruby-Ann Autry.
A sister of boundless warmth, Tracy's laughter and kindness echoed in the lives of her siblings, Gail Fox Walden (Jerald) and Dale Fox. She was a cherished sister-in-law to Christy James, Susan Mills (Buddy), David Autry (Cindy), and Ricky Helderbrand. Tracy's father-in-law, Arthur Autry, along with numerous aunts, uncles, 18 nieces and nephews, 38 great-nieces and great-nephews, and a great-great-nephew, also mourn her passing, as they celebrate the memories they shared. Tracy will also be missed by her cherished companion, Matilda.
Tracy is preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Barbara Autry, and sister-in-law, Linda Helderbrand. Her memory will be held dear, not only by her immediate family but by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Tracy's professional life was characterized by 22 years of dedicated service at C.R. Bard, where she not only excelled in her role but also built lasting relationships with her colleagues. Her work ethic and collaborative spirit were hallmarks of her career, leaving a legacy of respect and admiration among those who worked alongside her.
Beyond her professional achievements, Tracy's heart was truly at home. Her love for her family was the cornerstone of her existence, and she held a special place in her heart for all children, particularly her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Tracy's passion for life extended to her garden, where she found solace and joy in the beauty of flowers and the tranquility of nature. She enjoyed traveling to the beach, spending time sitting in the sun and enjoying the calmness of the waves.
A gathering of friends and family to celebrate the life of Tracy will be on Friday, October 17, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at J.C. Harwell & Son Funeral Home.
