Tracy Lynn Ransom Francis

Tracy Lynn Francis 64, of Richland Springs, Tx. passed away on November 1, 2025 in Temple, Tx. A graveside service for Tracy will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Richland Springs Cemetery in Richland Springs, Tx. and will be officiated by Pastor Mack Elkin. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home in San Saba, Tx.

Tracy was born on March 19, 1961 in Houston, Tx. to Marie Ray Ransom and Russell Aubrey Ransom, Jr. She had three stepbrothers John, Scott, and Shane and two stepsisters, Christine and Carrie.

Tracy graduated from High School in Missouri and returned to Texas in 1979 to live with her Aunt Bobbie. She reconnected with a friend from Missouri, Mark Francis. They were married August 26, 1961. They had one child Jacob. Mark went to work for Southwest Airlines in Houston and Tracy began work for the Harris Tax Assessors Office. Tracy worked her way up to manager of a multibillion-dollar department. She retired after thirty years of service with the county and moved to the family farm in Richland Springs, Tx.

Tracy loved animals. She rode horses while she lived in Houston. Participating in many riding events and trail rides. She volunteered for the Houston Stock Show every year and made a point of visiting the entries from Richland Springs. She was a long-time member of the Water Safari Races, acting as one of the judges on the race. She was also member of the cattle dog rescue group. Often traveling long distances to pick up or transfer dogs into safe homes. She rescued several older dogs personally. She felt that the older dogs were difficult to adopt, so she adopted at least five during her lifetime. She was generous with her time and resources.

Tracy loved all things sports. When she moved to Richland Springs she became a diehard Coyote fan. She followed the Facebook pages, knew the stats and could tell you as much about the players as she could the NFL. Tracy was always available if you needed help. If you needed advice, she would give it to you, but only if you asked. She was a straight shooter who never backed down from telling the truth. She will be missed by many people.

She is survived by her husband, Mark; her son, Jake; a grandson, Luke; her father Russell and step mom Sue; two sisters, Carrie and husband Roy Prince and Chrissy and Husband Bobby Baker; five brothers, John, Scott Ransom and wife Heather, Shane Ransom, and Earnie Ransom; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Tracy enjoyed serving others. She also enjoyed teaching. She was patient, pleasant, and accountable. She did not cut corners or deviate from procedure. She was effective, timely, and responsible. She treated everyone with respect. At times she was silly, even goofy, but fun loving and a friend. She enjoyed life, and was grateful for every breath our creator granted her. She will be missed.

Tracy and I rode the park and ride bus together home from downtown. We had a lot of laughs while we taking our 30 minute trip. We didn´t work together we meet at the bus stop. She was so sweet. She really loved her family. Praying for the family and friends. God bless you all.

I want to offer my condolences to Tracy´s family. I haven´t seen her in several years but always ask if anyone knew how she was doing. She was always so helpful to everyone and we looked forward to seeing her each year. Years ago my wife was my TC and started the race with car trouble. Tracy gave my wife her phone number in case she had any trouble to call Tracy at any time. She is a cherished member of the Water Safari family and will certainly be missed.
Tracy we will see you at the flag pole!

Hard to come to grips with you being gone.... WAY too young and full of life. Even though you hadn't been at the Texas Water Safari in years, it will never be the same for me knowing I can't call you and talk about things while on the road or at a checkpoint -- or at Whataburger in Victoria! We sure had some good times! So much heartfelt sympathy for your dad, Mark, Jake, and all your siblings. You're healed now, got your toes back and all. Bless you and your family.
