Tracy Lee Fuchs

Tracy was born to Pamela Rae Fuchs and William Andrew Fuchs Sr. at Saint Francis Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She moved to Utah at the age of 2.

She went to various schools including Lakeview Elementary, Roosevelt Elementary, Day Spring Elementary, T.H. Bell Jr. High, and Bonneville High. She ended up graduating from Saint Joseph High School.

Tracy‘s first encounter with cancer was at the age of 19. She overcame thyroid cancer and went back to Weber State University. She married John Richard Connolly in 1991 and followed him to Seoul, South Korea, and Yokota, Japan. She came back early from that tour to be near her father who passed at the age of 51.

She moved on with John for his software jobs in Arizona, Florida, Tennessee, Washington, and back to Utah. Along the way, she made many lifelong friends. She held jobs as call center representative, administrative assistant, and owned her own cleaning business. After 29 years, Tracy and John divorced and she started a new adventure as a phlebotomist in Newport, Oregon. She moved with her mom to continue taking care of her and loved being by the ocean, and made many more friends.

In October 2022, she started having signs of a sickness. By January 2023, it was discovered she had colon cancer. She was hopeful and wanted to go a natural route and started taking care of herself, but that was not to be. Those family and friends that have been instrumental in her life gathered around her and helped to take care of her in those last months, weeks, and days. A special thank you to Jennifer Metzgar and Anna Alspaugh Lee, who were with her at her side as she passed away at Evergreen Hospice Home in Albany, Oregon.

Tracy leaves behind her mother, Pam Fuchs; brother, William Fuchs Jr. and his children, Madison, Daniel, Steven, and Michael; her family in Utah, Uncle Dave and Aunt Marie and their children, Joe and Paul and their families; her mother’s cousin, Rosemary and her husband, Dave, and their son, Adam; cousin, Theresa and husband, Hal, in Palm Springs, California; her family in Pittsburgh, Aunt Shirley; cousin, Ron Jr. and wife Heather Fuchs and his children; cousin Michael and wife Melissa Fuchs and their children. Tracy is preceded in death by her father, William Fuchs Sr.; sister, Amanda Fuchs; Aunt Mary Lou; Uncle Ron Sr.; her cat Caleb; and precious dogs Kayla and Freddy.

Tracy did not have the pleasure of having her own children but became friends and caregiver to many of her nieces, nephews, and her friends’ children. She cherishes each one of them and could not name every single person in this, but wants you to know who you are when you read it and how very special you are.

Tracy wants to thank every person but was not able to write everyone’s name down, but you know who you are. If you knew her, then she thanks you for all that you ever did for her in her life. She also wants you to know lieu of flowers or money, to take a loved one to coffee (her guilty pleasure) and enjoy that person, listening to them, getting to know them, and being a loving person to them. She wants you to know that the most important thing of life is to give it away. Give your heart to Jesus, thank him for saving your soul by dying for you, repent of your sins, and let Him know that you need him, and then begin to follow Him. He is a friend, He is a father, and He will always be there for you if you develop that relationship with Him.

As my sister so often said, “Bye for now.”
