Robert Dan "Bob" Jensen

Robert ("Bob") Dan Jensen passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024. He was born on September 19, 1951 in Butte, Montana. He grew up wild in the small town of Anaconda. He spent his childhood outside, fishing and getting into trouble, as he would tell it. His parents moved the family to Utah when he was in seventh grade.
As a devout Catholic, Bob graduated from Saint Joseph High School. He went onto college and graduated from the University of Utah with a Master's Degree in Political Science. He taught history and geography at Sunset Junior High for 30 years.
Bob met and married the love of his life, JoAnn, in 1983. Together they created a wonderful and happy family with their three girls, Samantha, Stefany, and Shannon. Robert was an avid fly fisherman and loved spending time with family in Island Park, Idaho in his retirement. His deep love for Notre Dame football was unmatched and he could be found every Saturday in the fall scrutinizing each play, yelling "let em' play!" at the TV when a foul was called, and holding the Irish pigskin for good luck.
One of his most proud roles was that of grandpa or "papa" to his three grandchildren. Papa had a knack for knowing the exact way to connect with any child, at any age. He could rock a baby to sleep whilst teasing a teenager with his quick wit. Children loved Bob. He had endless energy if anyone wanted to play. Every child in any room gravitated toward Papa's open arms and funny jokes. Many kids considered Robert their surrogate father. He was a perfect role model for how a man should care for his family.
Bob was the friendliest man with the kindest smile. He walked around his neighborhood daily, waving to each and every person or car that passed. He radiated kindness in a rare and beautiful way. He was truly a one-of-a-kind person. Bob was wise, patient, and was deeply devoted to his family. The hole he leaves behind is one that will never be filled.
The family would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of love they have received during this time.
There will be a private family Funeral Mass and Rosary said in Bob's honor. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024, at Myers Mortuary, 205 South 100 East, Brigham City, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family would love donations to be made in his memory to the International OCD Foundation.
