A funeral service for Tracy Denise Rutledge, age 48, of Fayetteville, TN, will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Higgins Funeral Home, with Bro. Jeremy Hudgins officiating. Burial will follow in Kirkland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 AM until 1 PM on Saturday at Higgins.
Tracy was born on June 10, 1977, in Madison County, AL, to Patricia Counts Thompson and the late Frederick Dale Thompson. She was a proud 1996 graduate of Lincoln County High School and later earned her bachelor's degree from Athens State University. For over two decades, Tracy dedicated herself to her work as an accounting manager at KBR in Huntsville, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues.
A devoted member of Kirkland Baptist Church, Tracy loved her church family dearly. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life such as fishing, shopping, and spending time with those she loved. Her vibrant personality, warm heart, and generous spirit touched all who knew her. Tracy had a way of making everyone feel seen and cared for, always putting the needs of others before her own. Despite the challenges she faced, Tracy showed unwavering strength and grace throughout her illness. She passed away on June 18, 2025, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 23 years, William Rutledge; her beloved sons, Carson Rutledge and Blake Rutledge; her mother, Patricia Thompson; her brothers, Steve (Ashley) Thompson and Chris (Katie) Thompson; her in-laws, Joe and Wanda Rutledge; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
