Treva Kay (Schaar) Gaskill, 83 of Newcomerstown, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at her residence.
Treva was born April 30, 1941, in Worwick Township to the late Dale and Beulah (Zumbrunnen) Schaar. She attended Wolf Salem Community Church, and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She loved quilting and sewing, and cooking for her family. Treva was a member of the Cabbage Patch Homemakers club and won the Homemaker of the Year Award. She liked helping on the farm and was an advisor for the 4-H Club where she helped at the Tuscarawas County Fair. She was a member of the Buckhorn Grange, and a member of the Farm Bureau.
She is survived by her loving husband of sixty-four years Allen Gaskill; her children Marla (Manny) D'ostroph, Susan (Tim) Celuch, Terry (Sonya) Gaskill, and Larry (Dana) Gaskill; her grandchildren Brett Book, Josh (Cassie) Gaskill, Tyler (Kylie) Gaskill, Shane (Brianna) Gaskill, and Monica (Tom) Jones, Alana (Tucker) Fishel, and Cody Gaskill; six great-grandchildren; and her sister Shirley Gordon.
Treva was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son Rodney; her in-laws Lawrence and Josephine Gaskill; and her brother-in-law Von Gordon.
The Gaskill family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Walnut Hills Rehabilitation Unit, and Ohio's Hospice for their love and care during Treva's life.
A visitation will be held at Addy Funeral Home in Newcomerstown from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Tuesday, March 4, 2025. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm with Pastor Matt Leonard officiating. Treva will be laid to rest in Bethel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
