Trey Easton Simmons
Trey Easton Simmons, son of Travis Simmons and Rachel “Nikki” (Bridges) Simmons, was born on March 9, 2011, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and departed his life on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, in Scott City, Missouri, at the young age of 14 years.
Trey was a freshman at Scott City R-1 Schools where he was a member of the baseball team and a record holder sprinter in the 4X200m relay in track. He loved music, playing video games, and singing the music he loved to those closest to him. Trey always entertained those around him and strived to make everyone’s day brighter. But Trey was more than a student or baseball player, or an entertainer. He was the most kind, good, and honest young man who loved big, especially his family and beloved dachshund, Poppy Kate.
Along with his parents, Travis and Nikki Simmons of Scott City; survivors include one brother, Evan Simmons; two sisters, Rylie Simmons Joel (Hopkins) and Makenzie Simmons; a niece, Remi-Lee Jade Simmons; also, by a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at Scott City R-1 FEMA Building. Funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at 5:00 PM in the Scott City R-1 FEMA Building with Rev. Randy Morse officiating. Graveside service will be conducted on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.
