With profound sadness, the family of Troy Belvin Roland, age 62, of Rowlett, Texas, announces his passing on July 1, 2025, at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. A devoted husband, a proud father, and a doting grandfather, Troy leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and quiet dignity.

At 15, he was baptized at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church by the late Dr. R. B. Bennett. Troy was well known for his unwavering faith and his deep love for God. At the time of his transition, he was a member of Transforming Life Christian Fellowship, Dallas, Texas.

Born on November 5, 1962, in Alexandria, Louisiana, Troy grew up with strong values and a deep appreciation for family and tradition. He attended Peabody Magnet High School and then joined the United States Army in 1980. His tireless work ethic and meticulous leadership afforded him many intriguing professional opportunities throughout his 30+ year career in hospitality. He was employed as Director of Customer Experience - Terminal E at Diverse Facility Solutions (DFS) in Irving, Texas.

Troy met the love of his life, Anita, while still in his teens, and they later married on January 1, 1988. Together, they built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and love. Their bond was a shining example of commitment and partnership. Troy's favorite phrase to Anita was "We're gonna ride this thang till the wheels fall off!" As a father, Troy was fiercely protective and endlessly supportive. He guided his daughters and grandsons with patience and wisdom, offering lessons in character through both words and unconditional love. His family was his greatest joy, and he wore the titles "Dad" and "PawPaw" with pride.

Beyond his devotion to family, Troy was a die-hard Cowboys fan, each year proclaiming their advancement to another Super Bowl. He will be fondly remembered as a practical joker with a free-spirited personality that could always make people laugh. Troy was also known for his polished appearance and impeccable sense of style. Whether in a crisp suit or his signature hat, he carried himself with quiet confidence. He believed in showing up well - not only in how he dressed, but in how he treated others.

Troy is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Anita; his children, Tamara and Ashley; his grandsons, Brandon, Christopher, and Kingston; his father, Rev. Moses Roland; his mother, Corrine Smallwood; and his dear sister, Gayla (Wesley). He also leaves to cherish his memory an extended host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ben and Emmaline Blade Roland, and maternal grandparents, Harding Briggs and Joseph and Mabel Fields.

Though our hearts ache, we take comfort in knowing Troy is now resting in the arms of his Saviour, hearing the words, "Well done, thy good and faithful servant."

To Troy and His Family,

Troy was a brilliant colleague of mine who I worked with at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. He was not only a mentor to my professional career but also a mentor in life experience and knowledge.

Every day he showed up with a bright smile and the profound ability to take on any and all challenges as they came his way even if they felt impossible. All the while, he helped me understand a complex and difficult operation that he ran.

He relayed some of what he was going through, and now it all seems too real with his passing. Huge condolences and prayers to him and his family. It was always a delight to share stories with Troy about our backgrounds in Louisiana.

To the Family of Troy,

My heart is with you during this incredibly difficult time. Troy was more than a dedicated employee he was a dear friend, a respected leader, and someone who made a lasting impact on all of us at DFS.

He led with pride, care, and excellence not just at DFW Terminal A, but also at Terminal E. He inspired his team and left behind a legacy of dedication and heart. There will never be another director like him sharp, kind, always dressed to impress, and never without his signature hat.

He was deeply loved by his DFS family and all his employees. We will miss him dearly and hold his memory, always close.

With deepest sympathy,
Margaret Ortiz
