Troy's Life Story
Troy Donahue Schoolfield, beloved son of Emma Lee Schoolfield and the late Samuel Lee Crippen, Sr., was born on October 21, 1962 in Miona, Virginia. He departed this life suddenly at the age of sixty-one (61) on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at home.
Troy graduated from Cedar Chapel School in Snow Hill, Maryland in 1983.
Troy lived his life to the fullest. He loved cutting grass and drinking his Colt 45. He never complained about anything.
Troy loved his family and friends. He was the life of the party, always talking about things that he used to do. He loved talking with EJ and Kelly Brittingham and Bo Dorsey all the time. He would help our little neighborhood with anything that needed to be done. He would always go check on Bo and Laura and always helped them if they needed something done.
Troy was a son, brother, uncle, cousin, and a friend to many. He had a good heart and would help anyone he could. Our hearts are heavy but the memories we have will help us through the pain. We will miss him, but we commend him to God who makes no mistakes.
Surviving to cherish special memories are: his mother, Emma Lee Schoolfield of Pocomoke City, Maryland; four brothers, Russell Brittingham of Ocean City, Maryland, William Brittingham and Reverend Alonzo Schoolfield, both of Pocomoke City, Maryland, and Samuel Crippen, Jr. of Miona, Virginia; three sisters, Eva Crippen, Darlene Crippen and JoAnn Morris, all of Pocomoke City, Maryland; one brother-in-law, Alvin Morris of Nelsonia, Virginia; nine nieces, Sasha Holland and husband Jean of Salisbury, Maryland, Michelle Pote and husband Patrick of Felton, Delaware, LaRhonda Jones of Salisbury, Maryland, Lynaya Morris and husband Luke of Toronto, Canada, Latoya Harmon and husband Kevin of Wattsville, Virginia, KaShawn Sledge of New Church, Virginia, Meyosha Crippen of Princess Anne, Maryland, DeVona McKoy of Salisbury, Maryland and Melissa Crippen of Wilmington, Delaware; seven nephews, Bryan Corbin of Salisbury, Maryland, Martece Brittingham of Ocean City, Maryland, Terron Morris of Pocomoke, Maryland and Sam Crippen, Russell Crippen, Justin Walker and Thomas Habel of New Church, Virginia; his favorite cousins, Jackie Douglas of Withams, Virginia and Kelli Cropper of Pocomoke, Maryland and a host of other relatives and friends.
Troy was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Lee Crippen, Sr., sisters, Ella Mae Jones and Ava Crippen, aunt, Olivia Crippen and uncles, Forrest Crippen, Nelson Cropper and William Cropper.

I worked at Cedar Chapel when Troy was a student & he was a sweet, polite student & I am sure he was always the same as an adult. I am sure he will be missed. I was the school secretary after starting in the classroom working with Troy & his "buddies".
