Trudy Kay (Cockerill) Leefers, 67, of Jacksonville, passed away at her home on Sunday, August 17, 2025.

Trudy was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Leefers, and her parents, Robert and Sharon Cockerill.

She is survived by her children through marriage, Dustin (Stephanie) Leefers, Lindsay Holland, and Cory (Alice) Leefers; her sisters, Carla (Donnie) Williams and Lesia (Joe) Duggan; and her four grandchildren, McKenna, Leah, Jaxon, and Remi, who brought her great joy. She is also lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Trudy retired in 2023 after 14 years of service at Illinois College, where she built lasting friendships with colleagues and students alike. She cherished her circle of close friends who kept her life full of laughter and love. She especially enjoyed traveling to visit family and friends, creating many treasured memories along the way.

A celebration of Trudy's life will be held 3:00 pm Saturday, Sept. 6, 2025, at Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville. The family will meet friends from 1:00 to 3:00 pm prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
