Truman Miller Obituary

In Loving Memory of Truman E. "Ragmop" Miller September 26, 1946 - August 1, 2025
Truman E. "Ragmop" Miller, 78, of West Monroe, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2025. Born in Monroe on September 26, 1946, Ragmop spent most of his life in West Monroe, where he was a cherished member of the Luna community. Ragmop dedicated 20 years to Buddy's Diesel Service where he worked as a mechanic and was known for driving a dump truck.
Ragmop was preceded in death by his father, Charles Edward Miller; mother, Rosie Mae Ramsey Miller: siblings, Robert Edward "Peewee" Miller, Thelma Wilcoxson, Thomas "Buddy'' Miller, Bessie "BB" Wiltcher, Molly Cox, and Bettie "Chicken" Cleveland, to whom he was especially close. Ragmop is survived by his sister, Dorothy "Duck" Adams and his best friend,"Girl", where you saw one you knew the other was near.
Ragmop was a man deeply connected to the land and the life it nurtured. He spent countless days outdoors, tending to plants and caring for the animals that shared his space. His compassion for creatures great and small knew no bounds. whether it was a chicken, a peacock, honey bees, a cat, a dog, or even a raccoon, Ragmop welcomed them all with gentle hands and a generous heart.
His generosity extended far beyond the animals he loved. Ragmop was always willing to help, no matter the task at hand. He gave freely of his time, his energy, and his spirit-with humility and grace. He treated everyone with dignity and warmth, often offering a helping hand or a quiet gesture that made all the difference.
Ragmop approached life with humor and a deep appreciation for the little things: a good cup of coffee, a well-timed joke, and the simple joy of being outside. His humor was subtle and clever whether teasing with affection or offering a dry observation, he had a way of making people smile, even giving those closet to him nicknames. Those who knew him well will remember the little smirk and the sparkle in his sky-blue eyes that appeared every time he delivered a joke.
Truman's presence was a gift to all who knew him, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and the community he loved so dearly. To the family, it was a privilege to be with and care for him in his final days. I would like to express my appreciation for the opportunity. Thank you for your understanding and for allowing my family and I to continue honoring his memory.
