Trygve Warren Lund, born December 15th, 1921, Arundel Cove, MD died peacefully April 11, 2025 in Saco, ME at the age of 103. One of six children of Torstein and Ragnhild Lund, who came through Ellis Island from Norway. Trygve graduated from Springfield High School (Pennsylvania) in 1940.
He proudly served as a navigator on B24 "Liberators" in the Pacific Theatre during World War 2.
Post war, Trygve's professional life started as a cameraman, eventually landing on the popular Ernie Kovacs Show, in both onscreen and behind the scene roles. He retired in 1983 from Westinghouse as Public Access Manager and Control Room Superintendent, spending much of his career in New York City.
After retirement, Trygve stayed busy, refinishing furniture, singing in the choir at Saco's First Parish Congregational Church, spending time with family, and always on the go helping others. He nurtured his lifelong love for theatre and music, attending performances and occasionally getting up on stage with several local theatre productions. Recreational time was spent smoking his favorite pipe or cigar while noodling a crossword puzzle or playing card games, sharing a story over a drink, and spontaneous singing in any setting. Trygve attributed his longevity to not taking himself too seriously, and living one day at a time.
Trygve is survived by loving children and grandchildren, extended family and friends. He left a lasting impression everywhere he went and his wit and charm will be missed by many.
The family is honoring his wishes for a private remembrance and in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your local animal shelter.
