Turner Anderson Knight, a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, great-grandfather, and faithful brother, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at the age of 66.
Born on October 6, 1958, in Ripley, Tennessee, to the late Anderson Knight and Margaret Dacus, Turner was a man whose roots ran deep-both in the soil he tilled as a lifelong farmer and in the steadfast values he carried throughout his life. He spent his days working the land with his hands, building not just a livelihood, but a legacy of integrity, perseverance, and quiet strength.
Turner passed away on what was the 49th anniversary of marriage to the his beloved wife and lifelong companion, Karen Boswell Knight. Their love story was one for the ages-filled with laughter, unwavering devotion, and a bond that only deepened over time. Though his passing brings profound sorrow, the love they shared remains a lasting legacy and a testament to a marriage rooted in joy, respect, and unbreakable connection.
A man of deep and unwavering faith, Turner loved the Lord with all his heart. His life was a living testimony to the power of hard work, grace, and perseverance. Whether building deer stands, repairing what was broken, or lending a hand to friends and neighbors, he approached every task with care, precision, and pride. His hands told the story of a life spent creating, fixing, and serving.
Family was at the heart of everything Turner did. He was the steady hand and strong shoulders upon which generations stood. He found joy in life's simple pleasures-a sunrise over the pasture, a Sunday meal with loved ones, and the sound of grandchildren laughing nearby.
An avid outdoorsman, Turner found happiness in nature, especially when hunting or fishing with those he loved. Whether casting a line at dawn or tracking game through the woods, the time spent outdoors was about more than the catch-it was about connection, shared stories, and lifelong memories. His passion for the outdoors and the people he shared it with will live on in every cast, every hunt, and every heart he touched.
Turner is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Karen Boswell Knight; his children, Crystal Knight Fry, Kimberly Joyner (Sean), Jennifer Foropoulos (Sam), and Jamie Chandler (Jacob); his grandchildren, Matthew Knight Cullens, Alex Fry (Rachel), Chase Joyner, Grace Joyner, Anderson Chandler, and Berkley Chandler; and his great-granddaughter, Eliana Fry. He is also survived by his sisters, Syrene Knight Wilson and Beth Boswell (Norris), and his beloved special mother, Rosalee Knight. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in the memories we shared and the example he set.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anderson Knight and Margaret Dacus, and his granddaughter, Lily Faye Chandler.
Turner's legacy lives on not only in the fields he worked but in the love he gave, the faith he lived, and the family he leaves behind. He was truly one of a kind-a man of the land, a man of God, and a man of unwavering love.
A service to honor Turner's life will be held at Maley-Yarbrough Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, with visitation from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, April 23, at 2:00 PM, also at Maley-Yarbrough.
