Mildred Johnson passed peacefully from this life at Baptist East Hospital, Monday, October 6, 2025. She was 99 years old and leaves an incredible legacy for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Mildred was a legal secretary for 32 years for Mr. Hughes Bringle. After his passing, she was a Deputy Court Clerk for Chancery Court until her retirement.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony & Lois Dawson; her husband, Fred Johnson; one son-in-law, Robert Martin Simpson; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is survived by her two daughters, Linda Simpson and Carolyn Murray; one son-in-law, Bill Murray whom she loved like her own son; four grandchildren, Arlyn (Joe) Cuccia, Rob (Kristie) Simpson, Anna Kathryn (Hank) Word, and Lauren (Bryce) Mosley, and seven great-grandchildren, Maddie & Sophie Cuccia, Rylie & Lily Simpson, Harry & Evangeline Word, and Tess Mosley.
They will forever keep the memories of their witty and loving great-grandmother in their hearts.
