Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cremation Society of Kansas & Missouri - Prairie Village on Feb. 4, 2026.
Twyla Nelle Duensing, 89, of Webb City, MO, went to be with her Savior on October 11, 2025. She had recently been a resident at St. Luke's Hospice House in Kansas City, MO.

Twyla was born to Leonard R. and Lucille M. (Bogardus) Wilson on June 21, 1936 in Duenweg, MO. She lived most of her life in Webb City, and was a 1954 graduate of Webb City High School. She participated in the music department and greatly enjoyed playing the piano.

After high school, Twyla was employed by the Empire District Electric Company in Joplin, MO. After raising her children, she worked in retail and eventually at the Webb City High School cafeteria, where she later retired.

Twyla and William F. Duensing were married on October 19, 1957 in Webb City. They shared a full life together for sixty-four years until William passed away in 2021.

Twyla enjoyed being a homemaker, singing in church choir, caring for her cats (including many neighborhood strays), participating in the Women's American Legion Auxiliary and working crossword puzzles.

In addition to her parents and husband, Twyla was preceded in death by two sons, Daniel and David.

Surviving are her daughter, Debra Marshall (Doug), her sisters Joyce Still (Lynn) and Delores Tiller, grandchildren Kyle and Alison Marshall, Lori and Jessee Koehn, great grandchildren Ophelia, Jack, Theodore, Wyatt, Matilda, William, and Wesley, and nephews and nieces Jan and John Johnson, Ed and Alice Johns, Martha Clark, Tracey and Floyd Couch, Curtis and Megan Still, Mileigh and Kevin Johnson, and Heather Tiller Booker.

A celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Watered Gardens or Golden Paw Pet Rescue in Joplin, MO.
