Tyler Aaron Montgomery, 29 years old, of Newport Beach, California, formerly of Pampa, Texas, peacefully passed away surrounded by family and friends on Wednesday September 4, 2024, following a tragic accident. Tyler was born on March 10, 1995, in Pampa, Texas to Jerimiah and Jennifer Montgomery.
Following Tyler's graduation from Pampa High School in 2013, he attended West Texas A&M University for 3 years as a mechanical engineering student before transferring to University of Colorado Boulder to study biochemical engineering and began working for Corden Pharmaceuticals. It was at this time that he moved to California four years ago to join the team at Pfizer as an engineering tech and eventually transitioned to Medtronic's where he was currently a Lab Tech Supervisor.
As a child, Tyler grew up surrounded by a close-knit family and was exposed to various activities resulting in him having an eclectic interest in hobbies. His Papa introduced him to football at a very young age, Tyler liked football, he liked spending time with his Papa, so it began a thing for them. Tyler loved when he got to travel to Pueblo, Co to visit his grandmother and great-grandmother getting spoiled and making memories. He became quite proficient in playing multi-Bingo cards while at the Moose Lodge on Bingo night with his Mimi and mom and he loved to play pool.
One of his favorite pastimes would have to be building cars and trucks with his dad and drag racing which he was quite good at. During his high school and college years, Tyler was a multinational champion NHRDA including 2014 NHRDA World Champion in the Super Street Division while driving the family-owned diesel truck called "Misery". But the cool thing about Tyler was that he didn't always need speed or a crowd to be happy, as he was also a writer and could simply sit in silence by himself to create his short stories and even conjure up the illustrations for them. And last but certainly not least – his mission in life was to piss his sister, Jacey, off at every given opportunity – just like any typical big brother, right?
Tyler's gift of life as an organ donor has so far helped 5 recipients including a 10-year-old boy who got his right kidney. His heart, lungs, liver, veins, arteries, and skin were all harvested to help so many in need. The family will be notified as the organs are received by those in need so they will know just how much Tyler lives on in others. What a selfless gift of life and love he has shown! The family would like to thank all the family and many friends who have shown support through so many ways such as phone calls, texts, hugs, traveled to Amarillo, and joined them in the Donar Walk.
Upon arriving at the pearly gates of Heaven, he was joyfully greeted by his great-grandparents, Dell and B.W. Warren, Betty Jo Hill and George Cooper. Tyler is now reunited with Andrew Laury, his best friend since they were 5 years old, who passed away 8 years ago due to cancer. You boys have a lot of catching up to do go have fun!
Tyler leaves behind to cherish his memories as well as laugh at his corny antics are his parents, Jerimiah and Jennifer Montgomery of Pampa; a sister, Jacey Montgomery of White Deer; grandparents; Aaron and Debbie Hill of Pampa, Louann Gosbee of Florence, CO, John Parker Montgomery of Longwood, FL; a great-grandmother, June Laree Cooper of Pueblo, CO; uncles, Jeremy Hill and wife Jenifer of White Deer, Russell Montgomery and wife Kitten of Pueblo West, CO, Billy Montgomery and wife Angie of Bismarck, ND, Jack Montgomery of South Dakota; Aunt Dawn Bullbear of Pueblo, CO as well s numerous cousins and extended family members that he loved.
